In terms of sleep, according to scientists – the human body needs to sleep in a total darkness. When the sun rises and light appears, the light receptors in the retina send us a signal that it is time for awakening and prevent the creation of melatonin (sleep hormone) in the body.

The situation is reversed when it gets dark. Then the body gets the signal that it is time for sleep and encourages us to sleep discharging melatonin. This leads to a feeling of sleepiness, bad mood and anxiety when you wake up.
