Man Leaves His Own Birthday Party To Rescue Dog From Drowning In River

When Gabe Castellanos, 38, woke up on the morning of his birthday, he’d no idea that by the end of the day, he’d be heralded as a idol in the media but that’s exactly what happed.

Gabe was enjoying his out-of-door birthday party near New York’s East River when a commotion from the water garnered his attention. He looked toward the noise and realized that a black and white canine was floundering to stay round in the water.

While affrighted bystanders watched the poor canine struggle, Gabe sprung into action. He snappily headed toward the pier, exfoliate his pants down to his undergarments, and also put on a life jacket before jumping into the water.

He swam to the alarmed canine and tried to snare her but when he did; she snappily turned and smelled his face and hand. Ignoring his own blood and pain, he purposefully continued to push the canine until reaching the safety of the reinforcement.

Bystanders cheered the two on and a copter is seen swimming above covering the canine deliverance. Once ashore, the canine was ultimately reunited with her proprietor and the aft story of her terrible and important day came out.

Supposedly the canine, whose name is Harper, escaped from her canine perambulator who was hit by a auto. No bone knows how she ended up in the swash but she did and thankfully due to the frippery of Gabe, was saved from nearly drowning.

Gabe attributes his capability to save the canine to his ocean survival chops he learned in council. Indeed also, he didn’t escape injury. He has a bite on his hand, face, and the canine knocked him in the teeth so he now is witnessing dental form.

We ’re sorry Gabe got hurt but so happy that Harper is okay. Her proprietor is veritably thankful for all Gabe did that day and we ’re sure that Harper is, too.
