Giving gifts may be difficult. Everybody has a different style. When giving a gift, some people like to give cash, while others would rather get something handmade or extraordinary.
OP likes to bake cakes to give to friends and family as gifts. For OP baking cake is a hobby not a job. It was a fun way to show love, care, and creativity.
One day, OP’s cousin requested something special. She wanted OP to bake her wedding cake as a gift. As wedding cake involves much more effort and work, OP very politely declined. And explained to her that it wouldn’t be a good fit for them. However, the cousin was not in the mood to take no for an answer.
When she kept insisting, OP offered a solution to pay for the cake. OP offered 250$ to pay for the cake from someone else. The cousin didn’t like the idea and she got upset. She felt insulted as if OP was suggesting she couldn’t afford her wedding cake. She said 250$ even couldn’t cover the deposit for the type of cake she dreamt of.
