Is It Not Right To Say No To Do My Husbands Laundry

Disagreements are typical in relationships, particularly when it comes to domestic duties. A Reddit user Stunning-Style9507 faced the same issue. Her husband got angry with her because his jeans weren’t washed.

OP shared that she is a stay-at-home wife. She looks after the kids and the home. She quit her full-time work five years ago in order to help her spouse.  So that her husband takes a job abroad. By doing this she gave up her financial independence. Since then she has managed all the housework and taken care of their kids.

She did work part-time for a while. Lack of support, stress of work, her responsibilities for household and childcare badly hurt her mental health.

Her husband works from home with flexible hours. He didn’t help her with household chores. Not even on the weekends. His favorite pastime is playing video games.

When OP’s husband got angry at her, for not washing his jeans, she reminds him that he is not a kid anymore. He is a grown-up man now. She should do his laundry by himself. Her husband said that she is a housewife and has nothing else to do except this. But OP feels more than enough.

6. Both partners should work equally. It is not acceptable that a working partner works only 40 hours per week while a home partner works full-time. Both need to share the responsibilities equally.

7. Both husband and wife work together and manage all the household chores. They must work together to manage everything.

8. OP is not wrong. If her husband wants to wear clean jeans, he should do his laundry himself.

By New-Pea-3721:
