9-year-old boy saves three lives after he was killed in hunting accident

On Thanksgiving, a nine-year-old boy was killed after his father accidentally shot him during a hunting trip.

Colton Williams was out rabbit hunting in Orangeburg County, South Carolina when he was shot.

While Colton’s life came to an abrupt end, the boy’s grandfather, Vince Furtick, shared some uplifting news. Colton’s organs would be donated.

“Life goes on and in Colton’s case, three lives were saved by his donated kidneys and liver,” Furtick told News 12. “I cannot help but think that while we shed tears of grief because we’ve lost our only grandson, there are three other families crying tears of joy that their child’s life is saved.”

According to his family, the boy’s kidneys went to two children in South Carolina and his liver went to a child in Virginia.

“He was the brightest light in our lives and he will be missed greatly.”

“God has Colton in his arms now and we truly miss him but rest in the knowledge that we will see him again one day,” Furtick wrote on Facebook.

The pain this family must be dealing with is unimaginable. I can only hope that the fact that Colton saved three lives gives this family some peace.

Rest in peace, Colton. You will be forever missed.
